Security Camera Registration Form

  1. The Berea Police Department Camera Registration Program provides an opportunity for residents and business owners to help officers solve local crimes. Video evidence, captured by private surveillance systems, can help officers develop leads during investigations. By registering, information collected would allow investigators to know the locations of cameras so that, if a crime occurs in that area, police can directly contact the community member for assistance. Registration of your video surveillance system DOES NOT grant the Berea Police Department, or its agents, access to your system. The goal of this program is to deter crime and promote public safety through collaboration.

  3. All registrants agree to the following:

    •Under no circumstances should registrants construe they are acting as an agent or employee of the City of Berea or the Berea Police Department, participation in this program is voluntary.

  4. •Registration information will be used by the Berea Police Department for official purposes only.

  5. •The Berea Police Department will not have direct access to any surveillance cameras registered in this program but may contact you regarding your recordings.

  6. •Any footage containing or related to criminal activity may be collected from the owner, by the Berea Police Department for use as evidence during any stage of a criminal investigation.
