Named for Dorothy Marks McKelvey, the city's and Baldwin Wallace University's historian, McKelvey Park had originally been dedicated on Sept. 27, 1985. After a major reconstruction, thirty years later to the date McKelvey Park was rededicated on September 27, 2015.
McKelvey Park fesatures a lighted fountain, which can double as a splash pad for children, a pergola, and more green space with seven imperial honey locust trees. A bell that originally hung in the former City Hall at the corner of East Bridge and Seminary has been reinstalled at the park.
