Chief Mark Schultz has been a proud member of the Berea Police Department since 1982. He graduated first in his class at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy.
Chief Schultz has worked his way through the ranks. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1992, Detective Sergeant in 1993 and Chief of Police in 2006.
Chief Schultz is a member of the Cuyahoga County Chiefs of Police, the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Five Full Time Dispatchers: Anne Boone, Kay Ellis, Jenny Hickle, Dianna Hager and Diane Williams
One Part-Time Dispatchers: Kathi Webb.
Seven Auxiliary Officers: John Kilkenny, Tim Yeager, Scott Donato, Ray Broughton, Dan Biddlecombe, Joseph Vedda and Adam Doyle
Animal Control Officer: Laura Rizk
School Resource Officer: Robert Lages (Part-Time Officer)
School Guards: Joann Macias, Gertrude Yarhaus and Andy Michaels
Reverend: Leroy McCreary
The Berea Police Department manpower presently stands at 30 full time sworn officers. The breakdown is as follows:
- 1 Chief of Police
- 1 Lieutenant
- 5 Sergeants
* 3 Patrol Sergeants, 1 Detective Sergeant & 1 Service Sergeant
- 20 Patrolmen
* 17 assigned to patrol duties
* 3 assigned to detective bureau
We have 7 auxiliary officers, one animal control officer, one administrative assistant, 5 fulltime dispatchers and 1 part-time dispatcher.
