Message from Mayor Kleem
City of Berea will welcome the winter holidays with the annual Jack Frost Festival and Light Up Berea Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7. I hope to see you there during our daytime and nighttime events.
As usual, the Jack Frost Festival will be centered around Santa in the Gazebo at Coe Lake. Children can visit from 1-3 p.m. There also will be crafts and games in the Pavilion plus fun characters like the Grinch and Jack Frost. An ice carver will create sculptures and families can enjoy music and a balloon artist.
All of these events are free of charge. They are made possible by generous donations from local businesses, organizations and individuals and for that we are very grateful.
Come back from 6-8 p.m. when the fun continues downtown at the Triangle with the Light Up Berea Parade stepping off at 6 p.m. from the municipal parking lot behind City Hall. The parade will proceed down Seminary Street to Liberty to Front Street to Riverside Drive and the Triangle. Marchers include floats from various churches and other organizations and Santa of course. The Christmas Tree will be lighted with a special firework followed by a spectacular fireworks display launched from atop downtown buildings. Kids can ride a miniature carousel and Ferris wheel. The Rotary Club of Berea and the Rotaract Club of Baldwin Wallace University will serve free hot cocoa and cookies. All of these events are free of charge. They are made possible by generous donations from local businesses, organizations and individuals and for that we are very grateful.
Please join me at the Jack Frost Festival as we take a break from the hubbub of the holidays and relax with our families, neighbors and friends. Have a very Happy Chanukah, Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year!
