Fire Department

The Berea Fire Department proudly protects nearly 20,000 people living, working and visiting in an area of 5.9 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department who members are full-time paid firefighters.

It is our mission to provide the highest standard of service to all those who may seek our help; to respond to emergencies in a professional and courteous manner; to protect life, property, and the environment through emergency mitigation, public education and code enforcement.

FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC ENTRANCE EXAM

The Firefighter/Paramedic Exam will be held at Berea High School, 165 E. Bagley Rd. on Sat., Oct. 13, 2012, at 9 a.m. Applications available at Berea City Hall beginning Aug. 29, 8:45-4:45 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Deadline for submitting notarized application with $25 fee is Fri., Oct. 5 at 4 p.m.

Note: **Only the first 200 applications filed will be accepted.** No make up testing of exam. Steve Johnson, Chair of Berea Civil Service
