Yard Waste

Republic Waste Yard Waste Guidelines

  • Grass clippings, leaves and other yard waste should be placed in brown paper yard waste bags, which are available at home improvement and hardware stores.
Yard waste also can be placed in specially marked garbage cans. The bags and cans should not weigh more than 40 pounds when fully loaded. The yard waste will be recycled. Yard waste in plastic bags should be placed in the blue trash container. Yard debris in plastic bags will not be recycled but will be placed in a landfill.
  • Cut small branches to no more than 4 feet in length and bundle them with string. Place them at curbside alongside the yard waste bags and cans. Do not place yard waste in the green recycling containers. Curbside pickup by Republic Services will be available mid-April through November.
  • Loose leaves - The City of Berea will collect leaves at the curb according to published schedule in the fall.
  • Small branches must be cut and bundled, not to exceed 3 feet or 40 pounds, and placed next to yard waste bags or yard waste cans.
  • Yard waste generated by contractors must be removed and disposed of by contractors.
